The system is used for supervision and control of the electric power distribution on 110/20/10/6.3 kV levels including different number of substations, switchyard and other high voltage devices.
The system is able to process information amount of thousands of signals, measures and commands.
In each substation an RTU is installed, which acquires processes and transports information from the object to high level Control Centers of the system.
The information from the substation devices comes directly into parallel digital or analog Inputs/Outputs, and these from various IEDs, including relay protections, measuring devices, bay controllers etc. over serial channels or communication network.
The “process level” the following fieldbus networks and protocols are used:
- IEC 60870-5-103
- IEC 60870-5-102
- Modbus etc.
For the data exchange between the objects and Control Centers usually public or corporate like:
- Optical- and
- GPRS networks or
- Power transmission lines,
with
- IEC 60870-5-101 and
- IEC 60870-5-104
protocols are used.
The system can be structured as a multi-hierarchical one with Control Centers, installed on the System, Regional and Local levels. In these cases, the RTU supports parallel and independent communication processes with all of the Control Stations.
Within the system structure a number of autonomous and in parallel processing system are built, witch reserved them mutually. Each of them supports their own objects.
The different Control Centers have their own Working places and each of them has access to the objects of the appropriate system level. They can by distributed randomly between the Working places.
The main rule are that all of the objects can be supervised from each Working place, but the control can be made only from one of them.
